Fiber optic cables with this design consist of a central support element and several loose tubes with a maximum of 24 fibers which are stranded around the central support element. For use on overhead lines, these are equipped with extra aramid yarns for strain relief. This enables tensile strengths of up to 50 kN to be achieved.
