Glasfasersystemtechnik
Sealing element for cable – wall ducts

Glasfasersystemtechnik
Self-inflating pipe or core hole sealing
The system is based on the well-known airbag technology and is designed to ensure watertightness between an underground pipe and the cables inside it and to close the entrance of pipes in buildings, outdoor cabinets and transformer stations.
Product description
This is a self-inflating element for gas- and watertight cable insertion into objects. It can be used to seal individual cables/pipes as well as bundles. This sealing solution impresses with its simple installation handling, for which no additional tools are required (any additional accessories required for installation are supplied).
Advantages over other sealing systems
- No accessories required for inflation
- No maintenance required (regular pressure checks)
- Improved reliability, avoidance of the error of insufficient inflation
- Can also be installed with water in the pipes
- Flexible, easy to install, saves time during installation
- Quick and easy removal
Advantages over other sealing systems
Technical data – Laboratory tests
Pressure | After pulling on the release cord, a pressure of 300 ±30 kPa is built up inside. Used for sealing and closing occupied ducts with a maximum internal pressure of 50 kPa (5 m water column). |
Temperature test | 20 cycles of 12 hours at 50 kPa pressure, temperature change between -15° and + 30°C |
Vibration test | 10 days with 10 Hz frequency cycles, 6 mm amplitude and a pressure of 50 kPa |
Mechanical tests | Tensile test D/2 x 10 N (5h), twisting test (5 min in each direction) and folding test between 35 and 45 degrees (5 min in each direction) |
Chemical resistance | Hydrochloric acid (ph 2), sodium hydroxide (ph 12), sodium sulphate, sodium, chloride, diesel oil |
Leak test | Immersion in water for 48 hours at a pressure of 50 kPa in the line |
Fire-resistant variant
Fire protection is an extremely important issue. That’s why we also offer the house design in a fireproof version that can withstand more than 2 hours in the event of a fire.
It prevents the spread of vapors and gases that are harmful to people.
